One of the major sticking points of Fortnite and other battle royale games is where you land at the start of each match. There are major points of interest that are named locations where players can land around the entire map.
These named locations typically have unique designs and interesting elements to them. In addition, more importantly, the named locations offer awesome loot for players to get right at the start of the game. This also creates tense situations where dozens of players land at the exact same point.
Top 10 Best Fortnite Named Locations
What's interesting about Fortnite is that its named locations have become very iconic. Places like Tilted Towers and Dusty Divot are just as memorable as the awesome skins that the game is also known for. But the problem with this is knowing which ones are the best Fortnite named locations on the map.
In fact, this problem becomes even worse when you realize that the named locations, unlike in other battle royale games, are subject to change at a moment's notice. This has resulted in places like Wailing Woods (rest in peace) becoming new locations like Sunny Steps and so on.
These changes have been met with more than a few angry complaints from players who weren't so happy with those changes. As such, there are literally dozens upon dozens of named locations to choose from for this list. All named locations from across every season are eligible for making the cut. I am basing my top 10 best Fortnite named locations list on multiple factors, including loot viability, how popular it is, whether it's a good place to land or not, and so on. Unfortunately, because these are named locations, I won't be including unnamed spots like the volcano in season eight. That deserves its own article later.

10. The Block
I'll be honest with you: I'm not a fan of The Block and probably never will be. The fact that it's constantly shifting and that some designs are much better than others has me just avoiding it entirely. However, that doesn't mean that it isn't a worthy named location and has no place on this list.
Quite the contrary. It deserves a spot on this list (albeit at number 10) simply because of its ingenuity and appreciation for the community. For those who don't know, The Block is a consistently changing named location that is always featuring someone in the community's creation.
It can include whatever area, town, building, and so on that a player has crafted within the game itself. It's a wonderful idea and something super awesome that Epic decided to do. It's quite unlike anything else in video game history. While games have appreciated fan work in the past, it's never been done like this.
Whether you like it or not, The Block exists, and it will be front and center as one of the game's main named areas. This is a milestone and shows that Epic really cares about its community. For that, it's worth appearing on this list and is a feature that other games in the future should emulate.
9. Paradise Palms
To me, the time around season five was the peak of Fortnite battle royale. It added a ton of great features and was the first season to do something radically different to not just one named location but an entire area of the map.
It took the pointless (in my opinion) Moisty Mire and turned the entire southeastern quadrant into a nice desert area. It was radically different at the time and brought with it the Paradise Palms named location. The location itself is cool with a few nice buildings here and there.
It certainly gives a Palm Springs vibe that is modern and awesome. The surrounding areas are awesome, too, with racetracks and other nice locations filled with treasure and vehicles. However, it would be nice to see more variety in this desert area like an expansion and/or second named location.
8. Flush Factory
Flush Factory was one of my go-to areas when Fortnite first launched its battle royale portion of the game. While it wasn't my number-one favorite spot or even the second (more on those in a bit), it was an established location that I really enjoyed visiting often.
Though Flush Factory lasted longer than some old named locations, it couldn't beat the iceberg that took it out at the onset of season seven. I really enjoyed how the entire place was one massive factory with numerous large buildings that are honestly unlike any other building since.

There was a lot of depth and verticality to those factory warehouses with rooftops and tons of hidden areas to explore. It was a great place to find loot, and it wasn't one of the more popular spots either, so it was practically a win-win all around. One of the less great things about it, though, was the fact that it was far away from everything else and typically hard to reach the circle from it. Thankfully, its legacy lives on in Mega Mall.
7. Greasy Grove
Greasy Grove is a fan favorite area that, like Flush Factory, was destroyed in the aftermath of the iceberg in season seven. Prior to that, it was a very popular destination based on its location and design. As the name implies, Greasy Grove is a town that is obsessed with all things fast food.
At the center of it is a glorious shrine to Durr Burger, which is totally a knock-off Burger King or McDonald's. It is surprisingly massive and detailed considering it is just a random fast food place. But it and the rest of the town had some great loot.
In addition, Greasy Grove was popular enough that Durr Burger has become its own meme and popular lore element of the game. Like Flush Factory, it has become idolized despite the town that it was presumably started in being destroyed.
6. Snobby Shores
Snobby Shores is one of my favorite named locations and one that I used to recommend players to always land at in the start of a match. That's because it offers some great loot while being unpopular compared to other locations like Tilted Towers and Dusty Divot.
Snobby Shores is on the western edge of the map and features the snooty suburbs with nice houses, cars, and the like. After all, it's not called Snobby Shores for no reason. But what you'll find is that each house features a ton of loot, whether it's in the attic or in the basement.
In addition, there are typically a few vehicles hanging around the houses that you can grab and use to zip around the map. While I don't think it's as viable today as it once was, it's a great named location that deserves a spot on this list.
5. Happy Hamlet
Happy Hamlet was one of the new spots that appeared when the iceberg landed in season seven. Replacing Flush Factory essentially, this area is cool for being an adorable themed town. The overall look of Happy Hamlet is super unique compared to everything else on the map.
In addition, it's a detailed town that features a lot of houses and is surprisingly dense given its placement in the middle of the snowy biome. You'll find a good bit of loot here, and it's honestly just a great place to hang out. It was my favorite new location added in season seven.
4. Mega Mall
One of the newest additions to the game on this best Fortnite named locations list, Mega Mall replaced Retail Row when the unnamed volcano erupted at the end of season eight. This season nine named location has quickly cemented itself as one of the best spots around.
Retail Row was dedicated to all things, well, retail, and Mega Mall is no different. Whereas I found Retail Row to be bland overall, Mega Mall takes the retail element and cracks it to a 10. Removed are the stores and some of the houses from before, and in their places is a massive mall.
This multi-layered Mega Mall is home to a lot of awesome stores to explore. The mall itself has a futuristic theme to it with a ton of depth. There are quite a lot of stores spread out across its multiple floors with plenty of hidden rooms and areas, too.
Mega Mall is a great place to land if you're looking for a ton of treasure chests and loot, although it is worth preparing as it is a pretty popular place. What's also awesome about it is its homage to so many past locations like Greasy Grove's Durr Burger, Pizza Pit, Flush Factory, and many more.
3. Loot Lake
Of all the best Fortnite named locations, Loot Lake is by far the one that has gone through the most changes while still basically retaining its core area and name. It was iconic and popular at the start of the game, playing host to a lone mansion in the middle of a lake. Www adobe photoshop cs6.

Like its name stated, it was full of loot to be found. Throughout the seasons, the lake has been filled in, a vault has appeared, and there was even a floating island at one point. Loot Lake is a staple of battle royale that will likely continue to be part of it for a long time.
Though it has, arguably, fell into its most uninteresting phase yet in season nine, it is still a great place that is worth visiting. Also, its storied history compared to most locations means that it is easily one of the best and most memorable spots on the island.
2. Wailing Woods
Rest in peace, Wailing Woods, an established and beloved named location that was able to remain itself until its untimely demise in season eight. Wailing Woods was and still is my favorite named location on the entire map.
It was, for one, not very popular (at least at first), and it played host to a ton of cool hiding spots with a nice maze in the middle. While the loot wasn't the best here, it was a great spot for sniping enemies and otherwise biding time until the end of the match.
Sadly, it was replaced by Sunny Steps, which has a nice design but is otherwise not a good replacement for this awesome location. Here's hoping that someday this dark and dense forest will make its return to the battle royale island. While I'm talking about it, fun fact: Wailing Woods was the first location I ever landed at in my first battle royale match.
1. Neo Tilted
Did you really think there would be any other named location at the top of the best Fortnite named locations list? Neo Tilted is the newest version of Tilted Towers, and while I could have put that specific name at the number-one spot, I feel that Neo Tilted is better in every way possible.
Vidbox for mac. There's a reason that Tilted is the end of so many memes and Fortnite videos. It's quite easily the most popular location to drop, and it's been that way since the beginning. After all, it has just about everything: a great location, tons of loot, and more.
It can be found right near the center of the map, so it's easily accessible from almost every location, and it's full of skyscrapers and other buildings. There is a lot of verticality to the game with plenty of loot to find. Neo Tilted improves upon this with better buildings and a cool cyberpunk look.
Not to mention, it has a nice John Wick reference with its hotel. With the slipstream around it, it makes it even better than ever but more accessible than ever before. It's worth keeping in mind, though, that it's still just as popular as it's always been, so expect a fight if you land here. Without a doubt, it deserves to be at the top of the best Fortnite named locations list.
